LUMS Merit Calculator: Eligibility & Profile Checker

LUMS does not calculate an aggregate or publish a merit formula, so this page does not invent one. Use this free LUMS checker instead: it tests your marks against LUMS’s official minimum requirements and compares them with the average student LUMS admitted, so you can see how competitive your profile is.

Quick answer

LUMS has no merit formula. Once you meet the minimum marks (70% in Matric and 70% in FSc/ICS, or 65% in FA for SDSB and MGSHSS), LUMS evaluates your academic background, admission test (SAT, ACT or LCAT), application and interview together. The last admitted class averaged 93% in Matric, 88% in FSc/ICS and 1380 on the SAT.

O/A-Level students: LUMS asks for an O-Level average of B (8 subjects) and A-Level 2 Bs and 1 C across the best three subjects, rather than percentages.

Does LUMS Have a Merit Formula?

No. LUMS does not publish an aggregate formula like 10% Matric + 40% FSc + 50% test. Its programme pages say applicants who meet the minimum eligibility “will be evaluated based on”:

  • Academic background
  • Performance in the admission test (SAT, ACT or LCAT)
  • Online application and supporting documents
  • Application review
  • Interview (if called)

Any calculator that gives you a single “LUMS aggregate” is making up the weights. This page checks the parts LUMS does publish: the minimum marks and the profile of students it admitted.

These are the averages LUMS published for its most recently admitted class. An average means many admitted students scored below it, so falling short is not automatically a rejection. But these figures show how competitive LUMS is.

LUMS Admission Test: SAT, ACT or LCAT

Every applicant to SDSB, MGSHSS or SBASSE must take one of these: the SAT, the ACT or the LUMS Common Admission Test (LCAT).

  • One application, two schools. You can apply to any two of SDSB, MGSHSS, SBASSE and SAHSOL, and state your major preferences.
  • No quotas. LUMS says there are no admission quotas.
  • Teacher evaluations. At least two are required, from teachers at your current or last institution.
  • Financial aid is applied for separately, by the aid deadline.
  • No deferment and no late applications.

How this page was checked. The evaluation criteria, minimum marks and test rules come from LUMS’s Fall 2026 programme pages. The admitted-class averages and dates come from LUMS’s undergraduate admissions page and admission calendar, and the quota and school rules from its FAQs. All were read on 1 October 2026. None of the other pages checked had an official formula: one says no formula exists, one gives unsourced figures, and one has no LUMS-specific content. This site is independent and is not affiliated with LUMS.
