UOL Merit & Aggregate Calculator (University of Lahore)

Use this free University of Lahore (UOL) merit and aggregate calculator to calculate your admission aggregate. MBBS and BDS use the confirmed PMDC formula; for other programmes, enter the weightage given in your admission notice to calculate your merit.

Quick answer

MBBS and BDS at UOL’s University College of Medicine & Dentistry use 10% Matric + 40% FSc + 50% MDCAT, which UCMD’s own merit lists confirm. For its other programmes, UOL says only that merit comes from your last exam, the UOL entry test and the interview, and does not publish a fixed percentage split. Use the custom option to calculate with the weightage in your programme’s admission notice.

UOL Merit Formula: What the University of Lahore Publishes

ProgrammeMatricFSc / IntermediateTestStatus
MBBS, BDS (UCMD)10%40%50% MDCATConfirmed by UCMD merit lists
All other programmes——UOL Entry Test + interviewNo fixed split published

MBBS and BDS: UCMD’s own provisional merit list shows each applicant’s Matric weightage out of 10, FSc weightage out of 40 and MDCAT weightage out of 50, added into the aggregate. This is the national PMDC formula used by every medical and dental college in Pakistan.

Other programmes: UOL’s admission guides say selection is “on merit, determined on the basis of marks obtained in the last examination, entry test / interview (if any) and such other criteria as University may determine.” They do not give a percentage split. This calculator does not invent one. Use the custom option with the weightage from your programme’s admission notice, or ask the admission office.

O-Level and A-Level applicants must submit an IBCC equivalence certificate. Without it, UOL gives no weightage to their qualification.

How to Calculate Your UOL Aggregate: Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Convert each result to a percentage. Divide obtained marks by total marks and multiply by 100. MDCAT 2026 is out of 180.
  2. Multiply by the weightage. For MBBS/BDS: Matric × 0.10, FSc × 0.40, MDCAT × 0.50.
  3. Add the three results. The total is your aggregate out of 100.

Worked example: MBBS

A student scores 950/1100 in Matric, 980/1100 in FSc and 150/180 in MDCAT.

ComponentMarksPercentageWeightagePoints
MDCAT150 / 18083.33%50%41.67

Matric950 / 110086.36%10%8.64
Total aggregate——100%85.94%

Enter the same numbers in the calculator above, on the MBBS / BDS option, and you will get 85.94%.

UOL Entry Test and Interview

To be admitted to any UOL degree programme, you must pass the UOL Entrance Test, the interview, or both, depending on the programme. For business programmes such as the BBA, UOL’s admission guide lists both as mandatory.

MBBS and BDS applicants are ranked on MDCAT, not the UOL Entry Test. MDCAT 2026 is out of 180 with no negative marking. Our MDCAT aggregate calculator covers it in detail.

One application lets you apply to up to three programmes at no extra charge. The prospectus fee is Rs 2,500, payable online or at the campus.

UOL Eligibility Criteria

MBBS / BDS60% in FSc Pre-Medical, plus MDCAT: 55% for MBBS, 50% for BDS (PMDC)
BBA and other business programmesSecond division in FA / FSc / ICom or equivalent, or A-Level in three subjects with an average of C

All UOL admissions are provisional. You must submit proof of eligibility within three weeks of the result being announced, or the admission is cancelled. Incomplete forms are rejected.

UOL MBBS/BDS Merit: How Much Is Each Mark Worth?

ImprovementChange in MBBS/BDS aggregate
+1 MCQ in MDCAT (out of 180)+0.278 points
+10 marks in FSc (out of 1100)+0.364 points
+10 marks in Matric (out of 1100)+0.091 points

Each MDCAT question is worth about as much as eight FSc marks, so MDCAT preparation moves your UCMD merit fastest.

UOL Closing Merit: What Aggregate Do You Need?

UOL publishes separate merit lists for each programme, so there is no single cut-off. In UCMD’s 2022-23 BDS list, the top aggregates were above 88%. MBBS usually closes higher than BDS.

For other programmes, closing merit depends on that year’s applicants and seats. Use the last merit list for your programme as a benchmark.

How to Improve Your UOL Merit

  • MBBS/BDS: put most of your effort into MDCAT. It carries half of your aggregate.
  • Prepare for the interview as well as the test. Most UOL programmes use both.
  • Use all three programme choices. One application covers three programmes at no extra cost.
  • Get your IBCC equivalence early if you have O/A-Levels. Without it, your qualification gets no weightage.
  • Submit eligibility documents on time. The provisional admission lapses after three weeks.

Common UOL Merit Calculation Mistakes to Avoid

  • Treating a guessed split as UOL’s formula. UOL publishes a fixed weightage only for MBBS/BDS.
  • Dividing MDCAT by 200 or 210. MDCAT 2026 is out of 180.
  • Averaging Matric, FSc and MDCAT equally. For MBBS/BDS the weights are 10, 40 and 50.
  • Leaving out the IBCC certificate. O/A-Level applicants without it get no qualification weightage.
  • Treating the estimate as final. Only UOL’s published merit lists are official.

Frequently asked questions

What is the UOL merit formula?

For MBBS and BDS at UCMD, it is 10% Matric, 40% FSc and 50% MDCAT. For other programmes, UOL says merit is based on your last exam, the UOL entry test and the interview, but it does not publish a fixed percentage split.

What is the UOL MBBS merit formula?

10% Matric + 40% FSc + 50% MDCAT, the PMDC formula. UCMD’s own merit list shows each applicant’s weightage out of 10, 40 and 50.

Is there an entry test for UOL?

Yes, for most programmes. UOL requires applicants to pass the UOL Entrance Test, the interview, or both. MBBS and BDS use MDCAT instead.

How is the UOL aggregate calculated for MBBS?

Matric % × 0.10 + FSc % × 0.40 + MDCAT % × 0.50. For example, 950/1100, 980/1100 and 150/180 give 85.94%.

Why does the calculator ask me to enter weights for BS programmes?

UOL does not publish a fixed Matric/Intermediate/Test split for its non-medical programmes. Instead of guessing, the calculator lets you enter the weightage from your programme’s admission notice.

How many programmes can I apply to at UOL?

Up to three programmes in one application, with no extra charge for the additional choices.

What is the minimum eligibility for UOL?

It varies by programme. MBBS/BDS need 60% in FSc Pre-Medical plus the PMDC MDCAT minimum. The BBA needs at least a second division in FA/FSc/ICom or equivalent.

Is this the official UOL merit?

No. This is an independent estimator. Your official merit position appears on UOL’s published merit lists.

Regulators and equivalence

How this page was checked. The MBBS/BDS formula comes from UCMD’s own provisional BDS merit list, which shows each applicant’s weightage out of 10 (Matric), 40 (FSc) and 50 (MDCAT). The general admission rules, entry test and interview requirement, three-programme rule, IBCC requirement and provisional-admission deadline come from UOL’s own admission guide. UOL’s website blocks automated access, so we read its published PDFs directly. We found no UOL document giving a fixed weightage for non-medical programmes. The other calculator pages checked either labelled their split as an estimate or showed no formula, so this page asks you to enter your programme’s weightage rather than presenting a guess as UOL’s formula.
