According to PU’s Admission Regulations Book, both Hailey colleges use 75% academic record + 25% PU entry test. The academic record is (Matric ÷ 4 + Intermediate + additional marks) ÷ (Matric total ÷ 4 + Intermediate total). At HCBF, I.Com students get 40 additional marks, and others get 20 for each of Statistics, Mathematics or Economics as an elective (maximum 40). Hafiz-e-Quran get 20 at both colleges. 2 marks are deducted for each late year.

Hailey College Merit Formula 2026
| College / programme | Weightage | Additional marks |
|---|---|---|
| HCBF BBA (Hons) Morning, Afternoon, Evening | 75% academic + 25% entry test | I.Com 40, or Statistics/Maths/Economics elective 20 each (max 40); Hafiz 20 |
| HCBF BS Islamic Banking & Finance Morning, Afternoon | 75% academic + 25% entry test | Same as BBA (Hons) |
| HCC BS Commerce, Accounting & Finance, Accounting & Taxation, E-Commerce, FinTech, Business Intelligence & Analytics, Computational Finance, Agribusiness, Islamic Business & Finance | 75% academic + 25% entry test | Hafiz 20 |
| HCBF BBA 5th semester / BBA 2-year; HCC BS Commerce 5th semester | Academic record 100% | Graduation-based (B.Com 40, electives) |
| HCBF MBA (2 years) | 60% academic + 30% test + 10% interview | — |
PU counts only a quarter of your Matric marks, so Intermediate carries most of the academic record. HCBF’s own 2026 merit lists print each candidate’s qualification merit, test points (out of 25) and additional marks, and they match this formula exactly. PU’s older programme page still shows “Academic Record 100%” for BBA, but the 2026 regulations and merit lists use the entry test.
HCBF Closing Merit 2026
| Programme (2026) | 1st list closing | Later list closing |
|---|---|---|
| BBA (Hons) Morning | 79.69 | 76.45 (2nd), 75.10 (3rd), 74.20 (4th), 73.47 (5th) |

| BBA (Hons) Evening | 68.07 | 62.42 (2nd) |
| BS Islamic Banking & Finance Morning | 70.71 | 63.18 (2nd) |
| BS Islamic Banking & Finance Afternoon | 52.67 | — |
These are the merits of the last open-merit candidates in HCBF’s 2026 merit lists (10–28 August 2026). Later lists fill seats left vacant by candidates who did not pay their fee, so the closing merit falls with each list. The Morning shift is the most competitive.
